An Unusual Take On The Vampire Myth,
Like other books by Kevin Ashman, Vampire is set in two different time lines – part of the story takes place in ancient Egypt, while the other part is in modern times. This is a technique that works really well, and it helps to keep the interest going throughout the book.
Being somewhat of a fan of Egyptology, I found the historical details convincing and well written.
The overall premise of the story is unusual and creative, and the ending, which is really good, was unexpected – and begs for a sequel, please!
As to those who have commented on bad electronic copies, then I have to say that I found no such problems.
Again, highly recommended!

This isn’t your kids Twilight,
Vampire’s for adults, but don’t let the title fool you, this book is full of great historical fiction. Having read Mr. Ashman’s Roman series, I was very surprised at how well he could change hats and write a book that had a modern theme with great flashback elements. Having read his India Sommers series afterwards, I’ve come to appreciate Mr. Ashman’s modern day historical fiction just as much as his ancient roman books. This book is hard to put down.
