These little plants are excellent. I ordered 3 on May 3, 2012 and they arrived four days later on May 7. They arrived dry looking, so I soaked them for a few minutes in water taken from the fish tank. (Fish tank water contains natural fertilizers from fish and there is no chlorine.) The plants look refreshed from the water and I put them on clam shells.

Two of the plants are about 3 inches high and about 3 1/2 to almost 4 inches wide. One is about 2 1/2 inches high and 3 inches wide.

The plants look the same as pictured on the internet.

I was so happy to receive this adorable little guy. He came with instructions for care and I ordered the little glass bulb planter to go with him. They are happily residing in my kitchen and he is green and healthy. Love it! One note: care instructions say to use rainwater, so if you order this, be sure to go ahead and put out a container for rainwater in case it doesn’t rain again for several days.

Update, several months on: plants are still happy and beautiful, and healthy. I spray them with rainwater twice a week or so and that’s all. So pleased with them

We love these little air plants, but had trouble finding them in NYC. Hinterland Trading’s plants arrived quickly and in excellent condition. The ‘instruction’ card was creative and really cute.

Fantastic book to read to your preschooler, November 25, 2007

I just love this book and the entire series of “Rookie Read About” books by Allan Fowler. Thoughtful and simple explanations, and great photos. I started reading this book to my two year old son, and though it was a little early for him, he understood a surprising amount of it. He’s still enjoying and learning from it at 3… gives us lots of things to talk about as he explores the world. His little friends enjoy these books too when I read to them. The series is probably best for children between 3 and 6.

Just the right amount of info, June 26, 2007

This series is great for your young scientists. It gives just the right amount of information on a topic accompanied by wonderful photos. It is great for building vocabulary as well.

This book focuses on the parts of plant including, pistil, stamen, petals, pollen, etc. It deals with fertilization rather than photosynthesis. It also covers how a seed is transported.
