This review is from: The Fallen Star: Fallen Star Series (Paperback)

I had heard quite a bit about The Fallen Star Series by Jessica Sorensen in the past few months. I decided it was definitely one that I needed to check out. The story line seemed wonderful, and the cover of the book is just gorgeous and really pulled me in. I just had to know more about the girl with the violet eyes! There will also be a movie coming out in the future!

The Fallen Star Series begins by telling us about Gemma Lucas, a high school student that has a bizarre life to say the least. She lives a very lonely life, not having any friends and being raised by her grandparents Sophia and Marco because her parents died when she was little. Gemma grew up not receiving any love from her grandparents. They acted like they wanted nothing to do with her. The strangest thing of all though is that for most of her existence, Gemma was uncapable of feeling any emotion whatsoever. Once she begins to feel, it is almost too much to handle. It begins with a strange prickle in the back of her neck and then she is absolutely overcome with an emotion. She has also been having horrible nightmares and it seems that the monsters from her nightmares are showing up in real life. Shortly after this starts happening, she meets some new students at school, Alex and Aislin Avery. She doesn’t think much of it since no one talks to her at school anyway, but when they are forced to sit with her in astronomy class she is left with no choice other than actually talking to them.

Now not only is Gemma dealing with the sudden capability of emotions, but also this strange electric current she feels when Alex is around. She will soon learn that she can’t just ignore it and she will learn many unexpected things about her past and where she came from.

Will Gemma be able to handle all of the new information that is being shoved in her face? Are the monsters that she thinks she is seeing really there or is she just sleep deprived? What is up with Alex and the electric current? You will have to read to find out. And trust me on this one, you will have to read the next one as well because this one leaves you with one heck of a cliffhanger!

I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. It was a little slow starting, but once I got through a few chapters I was hooked. I felt that in some ways I could relate to Gemma and how she was treated in school. Her character really grew on me. I will definitely be reading the next one soon, as I am dying to know what happened. If you have not had a chance to do so, definitely check out this book.

I saw this book about a week ago and was hooked from the first page. This story is about a girl named Gemma, who seems like an ordinary girl expect for one thing. She doesn’t feel any emotions. That is until one day when she felt this prickle on her body. She then starts to feel new emotions. She tries to tell Marco and Sophia, her grandparents, but something seems off with them so she keeps quiet. Soon after the feelings started happening two new students enrolled in her school. Aislin is nice enough, always kind to Gemma. Unlike her brother Alex. Alex who seems to hate her for no reason at all. Alex, the boy who she feels this strong electricity with. As the story goes on Gemma learns that myths and legends, might be real after all. And she slowly finds out who she is, and her importance to the world. This book was fantastic and readers will love this book. It has romance, suspense, and action all in one. I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a great book.

I started reading this book on my kindle fire and I thought it was another one of those weird type of books where the girl gets in trouble and someone saves her. But then it becomes such a suspense that I could not put it down. The part that had me on fire and upset about the end because it leaves you wanting to know more, but I am glad to say this book has my vote on 5 stars
