Product arrived on time. However a part was missing (small plug in the bottom) which made it unusable until it was fixed. The company was a little tough to get a hold of. They did send the part. All told it took two weeks before it could be assembled. The company needs better quality control and faster customer service.

This said the kit works well. Lettuce is the first test and is growing well.

The item cam in exactly two days and also was of high quality…well for what it costs I thought i was a pretty damn good DWC kit…even if you chose to construct your own DWC it would cost about the same and maybe even more, everything was included and all you need to provide is water, lights, seeds…great system for starting off plants

Great inexpensive way to get into growing your own veggies indoors, and provides a perfect model to expand on! Remember to rinse everything off with a hydrogen peroxide mix to clean everything including air stone, and use only distilled water.

All the pictures are black and white and of poor quality. The book looks like something out of the 50′s or 60′s. This book needs some serious updating. I am returning for refund.

Amazing Comprehensive Book, December 1, 2012

This book is immensely comprehensive, comparable to another plant bible, Handreck and Black’s “Growing Media for Ornamental Plants and Turf”. The style of this book is similar, somewhat dry yet microscopic in its coverage of everything hydroponic. There are many informative photographs, diagrams, and case studies of companies that built hydroponic systems to maximise space used and streamline production flow. However, because of the advanced nature of the discussion (mixing your own nutrients, constructing nutrient injector systems, and other more advanced topics) it is best to use a simpler primer to be introduced to hydroponics.

This book is not for the faint of heart. If you’re considering hydroponics at home or on your small farm ( like we are ) , some of the images of big commercial farms will be daunting / inspiring. The book is well thought out and contains a lot of useful, detailed information about commercial hydroponic systems. I also recommend the companion “Hydroponics: Questions and Answers” by the same author.
