I am not sure what happened with the other reviewer, but we bought this pool stone at Leslie’s and love it. We have very hard water (Las Vegas) and many deposits – and we haven’t cleaned the tile for over 8 months. Our pool is 42 x 20 feet and I just used one brick to clean the entire pool line. Most of the tiles are spotless, but I still have a few more spots to scrub (maybe it will take another block of hard scrubbing?). It is important to note that the remaining tiles have significant build up. Overall I was pleased at how well it took off that ‘white scum’ line and the tiles feel smooth. I can’t imagine it using more than 1/2 a brick when doing normal maintenance. I am pretty sure I will use these in our shower too – I hate scrubbing tile scum and these make it almost enjoyable! This is the first time ordering these online, will update it they do not hold up as well.

I bought the original pool blok, worked great, is $5 a block at Lowes, came home to try it, works great went looking on Amazon for more. I am removing white calcium lines around pool tiles. Can’t find the same stuff for same price on amazon, disappointing. Bought this product and wore through one of the three blocks in about 45 seconds of scrubbing, didnt even get through 1 tile !! Must be meant for some other material.

We have tried EVERYTHING to clean our pool tiles and nothing worked as well or with as little effort as these stones. We live in Tucson and have extremely hard water. We had let the hard water deposits build up for about 3 years of poor pool- cleaning habits. It just got to a point where we said, “to heck with it.” The hard water was built up so badly on one area over our jacuzzi, we actually used a chisel to remove some of the build-up last summer! In the past, we had tried chemicals (very toxic and a pain to deal with as you have to set the water level so low and wait for stuff to work and then get into pool and scrub), a regular pumice stone from the hardware store, a wire brush—these methods only ever produced fair results. I got these stones at Leslie’s last weekend and we’ve been cleaning each time we get in the pool.

They do wear down quickly, but still they WORK! I was able to clean about 30 of my pool tiles with one stone. I was able to clean about 15 of the very bad tiles in my jacuzzi with one stone. The jacuzzi tiles were so built up, the tile was a dark gray color from the build-up. I would say to clean completely and polish perfectly, we will need to buy another 3-pack of the stones. So, that’s less than 50.00 to get the pool tiles clean and sparkly: a fabulous deal compared to hiring the job out for one of those “bead/crystal wash” things or buying chemicals yourself!

Get these! They are the BEST thing for hard-water removal.
