best ever — eliminated all in NYC apt,
I live in a skyscraper apt house, and about 10 years ago when a lot of kitchens were renovated, I got a very bad infestation of roaches. I used every product in the super market and a lot of online products. Most killed some roaches and despite continuous application of products I still had a shudder-inducing infestation. The roaches lived in my appliances — particularly the housing of the dishwasher. This lasted for about 8 years — and should you be about to launch into a lecture on how I should keep my kitchen clean, I do have a clean kitchen with no garbage, etc.
Then one day, I looked on youtube and saw an informercial for advion. I ordered it and put it out for those ancient bugs. I did not apply it as was recommended. I don’t like having poison applied to surfaces. I took bottle caps and plastic container covers and put the advion in them and put them on the surfaces where I had seen roaches scooting about. In about a week I noticed a decline in numbers. I threw away the baited bottle caps and replaced them with fresh baited caps. I did this weekly for about two months.
I was going on vacation so I went on a killing spree. I must have made up about twenty bait caps and set them all over the kitchen and bathroom. When I got back two weeks later, there were dead roaches everywhere. Even on the living room floor. After that I set out about three bait caps on the sink and one on the dishwasher every week. At the end of the next month, when I turned on the light in the kitchen at midnight I did not see one roach. In New York City this is a miracle.
Since so little of the advion gel was used, I set out a trap about once a month, just as a preventative measure. But I have not seen one roach for over a year.
One piece of advice, which I saw in the Youtube video. Don’t put in big blobs of the stuff, just tiny dots. Also, I use disposable plastic gloves when handling this stuff and the baits.
I can’t rave enough about this product — Thank you Dupont.

This has got to be the best product on the market. We live in an apartment building with 7 units. The neighbors across the hall moved out and left the rest of us with the undesired gift of roaches.
I ordered this for our elderly landlord and did the application to all 7 units and placed it in the halls that connect the apartments. There was one bold roach that didn’t run when it saw me, so I put a tiny dab of the Advion in front of him and he began feasting immediately.
The applicator is a large syringe. The caps pictured are not what you use to apply it. It comes with one separate tip for application. It is longer with a tip that is narrow enough to get the bait into the tiniest of crevices. The kit comes with only one plunger. The only draw back I found to this product is that the plunger doesn’t screw into the syringe so if you let go, it falls out (and usually rolls away from you). But, the effectiveness of the Advion more than makes up for that.
The next morning, we would see dead or dying roaches. Each day, there would be more dead, but fewer in numbers. By the end of the week, we’ve not seen any. There is a new tenant in the apartment that had the worst infestation. He hasn’t reported seeing any roaches at all since he’s moved in. We have not had to retreat. The initial application did the job.
We ordered the 4 tube pack, and still have one full tube left over and part of another. A little goes a long way. We didn’t have what you’d call a heavy infestation, but at least a moderate one.
Want your roach problem gone? I highly recommend this product for ease of use and 100% effectiveness. It’s easily kept out of reach of kids and pets, no odor, no mess. No need to leave the house during or after treatment. It’s not necessary to empty all of the cabinets and drawers to treat the area. But you’ll probably need to do that to clean up the carcasses. Be sure to follow the directions included for applying the appropriate amount of product for your level of infestation.
As a side note: We used this in conjunction with the Gentrol IGR concentrate, just in case we missed any of the little ones. I can say the spiders in the basement didn’t like the Gentrol.

WE GOT THE 4 TUBES OF DUPONT ADVION COCKROACH GEL BAIT YESTERDAY NOVEMBER 12, 2011. AND THEY REALLY ARE DROP LIKE FLY’S… THEY ARE ALL OVER THE FLOOR. WE SET IT OUT AND THEY RAN TO IT, WE PUT THE OTHER TUBE OUT THIS MORNING AND THEY EAT IT ALL UP TO. THIS PRODUCT REALLY WORKS; WE ARE GOING TO ORDER ANOTHER PACKAGE FOR NEXT MONTH. THIS PRODUCT IS WELL WORTH THE PRICE. WE HAVE HAD PEST CNTROL PEOPLE COME TO OUR HOUSE, AND WE HAVE BOUGHT THE OVER THE COUNTER ROACH GEL, BUT NONE WORKED LIKE THIS. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
