This is a great product. Based on research, it has all the bells and whistles and better materials then competitive products. If you go to the manufacturers web site, you can watch a video of the installation, use, and drainage of the product. Also, it has a well laid out FAQ section.

Something to consider, these types of bladders are designed as single use. If you fill up the bladder and then don’t end up using it, you can either slit the side with a knife or use the included pump to start a siphon effect into the tub drain and it will drain itself within about 60 minutes. While I am not a fan of it, other users have reported draining, cleaning and refolding the bladder for a second emergency usage.

As I write this the company has not released refill kits but I hear they are working on that.

    Enjoy!

Update 8/2012 – The price on Amazon is now $21.95 with free shipping if you have Prime. Seems the best price out there once you consider shipping.

The WaterBOB arrived ahead of schedule. I’d seen a similiar item on a disaster preparedness website (AlphaRubicon) and was very happy to find one online for a decent price. As a Sheriff Deputy in South Louisiana disaster preparedness is no joke. The plastic is food grade and is thick and durable (plenty tough enough for sitting in your bathtub). The pump is not going to wow any one, but it will get the job done. Those of you who are worried about light and the water getting skunky (my small bathroom has no windows so not a concern of mine) throw a blanket (tarp, shower curtain…whatever) over the tub.

This is a must have for anyone worried about losing power and water. I live in Florida and during a hurricane I used mine. We went with out power and water for a week. This water bladder really saved our bacon! we did not have to wait in a water line at the fire station like so many others. I keep reading people saying this is a one time use item. I rinsed the inside out with organic apple vinager and spring water and then used a shop vac to dry the inside of mine. There has been no mildew or foul odors I would use it again with confidence.
