The Third Wheel (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Book 7)

Greg Heffley is not willing to be the odd man out.

A dance at Greg’s middle school has everyone scrambling to find a partner, and Greg is determined not to be left by the wayside. So he concocts a desperate plan to find someone—anyone!—to go with on the big night.

But Greg’s schemes go hilariously awry, and his only option is to attend the dance with his best friend, Rowley Jefferson, and a female classmate as a “group of friends.” But the night is long, and anything can happen

This review is from my son Daniel. This is a review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid 7. It is the latest book in the Wimpy Kid series. It has 217 pages like the rest of the books. There are only two months in the book, January and February. Both of them have holidays like New Year and Valentine’s Day. The color of the book is brownish red. I like the book because the title page has a picture of Greg’s Uncle Gary. It was my favorite book because in the story there is a restaurant called Corny’s. And it is mentioned at the beginning and the end of the book. I also like it because they mention someone named Johnny Cheddar who is one of Manny’s many imaginary friends. The story was my favorite one because they ended the book to be continued. I recommend it to people who like the fifth and sixth books and people who are looking for something funny to read.

OK, I have a 10 year old daughter and a 14 year old son. My experience with the series is limited to the movies and flipping through a few pages. Here is our experience with the book, “Third Wheel.”

The moment the book arrived I had to break up a minor fight over who got the book first. We went to a 15 minute oven timer to determine turns. After an hour my son relented to my daughter. She read the book, cover to cover, in the first night. She reports it is the best book in the series.

My son took two days to read it. He generally would rather read sports magazines, but thoroughly enjoyed the book. He rates it as solid in the series, but not the best one ever (unlike my daughter).

Well spent money. If you know the series I’m sure you know what you are getting. From a Dad’s perspective I like it WAAAY better than the Dork Diaries (not quite as snotty).

    Enjoy!

Bestselling author Jeff Kinney has done it again as he entertains throughout this charming story in the seventh installment of ‘Diary Of A Wimpy Kid.’ An exciting series that both children and adults love, including me. It’s Valentine’s Day in Greg’s middle school, and to the guys and girls, it’s a Big important event that they will forever remember, especially at this age. Greg and his best friend are out- and- about, sweating with worry to get a date, and the longer they hunt, the more nervous they become. The search becomes top priority as they look for girls to escort to the date, leaving Greg with good news as he finds one, and Rowley is left out in the cold. But, as the thrilling evening moves forward in a much anticipated wait, things are about to change. Is there love in the air, and who becomes the lucky guy? How does the dance turn out, and who gets what they wished for? The author delivers 224 pages of pure delight as we follow Greg and his friends in a heartwarming and funny story, filled with unexpected surprises, and twists-and-turns. Another winner has been created in this beloved series with adorable characters as the author portrays the ups-and-downs in life with all its challenges. Very Enjoyable, Educational, and Highly Recommended!
