    Love it, June 26, 2013

I spent literally hours researching replacement video monitors for my Lorex that I had paid $300 for almost 2 years ago. This one has everything that I was searching for. Split screen for seeing and hearing 2 cameras at once without having to toggle back and forth. I love that there is no menu to scroll thru, like my old one, eg. to adjust brightness (think 2am!) or change between cameras. If this monitor can do it, there’s a button for it. The buttons are not easy to mix up or accidentally hit. On my old one there was a button I frequently hit by accident which would cause the camera unit in baby’s room to play terrible, loud, tinny sounding versions of lullabies, which would immediately wake any sleeping child. I didn’t care about a monitor whose cameras could move, I just need to see/hear a sleeping toddler and infant twins in their cribs with 2 different cameras; zoom is a nice feature though.
Only minor criticism, there is no time display on this monitor. Really not a big deal but helpful to have only 1 electronic to mess with in the middle of the night when determining whether or not it’s time to get up to nurse a fusing baby. Overall, love it and worth every penny!

This is our 2nd monitor to purchase. Our first was VTech and quit working after 2 weeks (we were suckered into the VTech monitor by the price… come to find out several others had the same problem we did with it). So the other monitor is what I have to compare to.

I love that the screen is much more detailed and easier to see. You can also adjust the brightness easily.

This monitor’s screen will shut off after 5 min or so, which is nice because the previous monitor we had did not have that option and stayed on all night, lighting up our whole room. That was my biggest complaint about the previous monitor (before it quit working).

The sound sensitivity is just sensitive enough-not too light not too heavy.

We only have one child now, but it’s nice to have 2 different cameras for future babies. Several of my friends have ran into this problem with baby #2, having to buy a 2nd monitor since their current monitor doesn’t have the ability to hook up a 2nd camera. This was our reasoning for spending the extra money on this monitor & I’m glad we did.

Right now it’s nice to have a 2nd camera when baby takes naps elsewhere in the house and isn’t in the crib. We can still monitor him without having to walk in to check on him frequently.

The power cords on the camera and the parent unit are very long, making it easier to place them where you need them without having to worry about the location of the outlet.

Possibly my favorite feature: When syncing the camera with the parent unit, you have to push a button on the camera for it to sync. This is a safety feature so someone outside can’t just sync up to your camera & watch your baby sleep (it happens!).

I would recommend this and think it’s worth the extra money, especially if this is your first and you’re planning on having more children. Also, make sure whatever monitor you buy has the option to shut the screen off!

Picks up way too much static when in another room. Would turn it up to hear the baby but then the static was so loud it was intolerable.
