Outdoor Sofa,
Followup: In response to the weight limit – I have been unable to confirm but I can say that it withstood the weight of 3 people and gets daily use! There is no sagging. The cushions – I used a product called 303 Fabric Guard, which can be purchased at Amazon. I highly recommend treating the cushions. The dust brushes off the fabric and liquids bead up where you can wipe off without staining. I did the entire set with a 32 oz bottle.
I received this sofa in less than one week. It was everything I expected. Great quality at an amazing price! A very attractive piece. The sofa is well constructed, comfortable, and the resin wicker is tightly woven. The dark finish is exactly as shown on the website.
The cushion fabric is very soft to the touch. They are 4″ thick and corded. All cushions and pillows have zippers so you can wash them when they become soiled. I plan to spray all the fabric with a protector to keep them looking new. The color is a light khakki.
All in all this made for a great addition to my patio and I couldn’t be happier!

Amazing sofa, terrible terrible terrible experience.,
I actually LOVE this sofa – it’s amazingly handsome, looks really great with my Target wicker patio furniture, is very comfortable, and is long enough that I can sleep on the patio with it. I actually would like to give it five stars. However…I took 1/2 a day off of work to receive this item because it is such a large object and had to be delivered on a moving truck with two guys to carry it, signature required.
So I lug this monstrosity of a box onto my patio by myself (77lbs) and unpack it, only to find that it included four bottom cushions and two upright cushions instead of three and three. I thought this would be an easy peasy fix – I would contact Amazon, and they would just drop ship a new cushion. I contacted Amazon, who recommended I first contact the manufacturer to have it corrected under manufacturer warranty. But Amazon IS the manufacturer! I got on live chat with a customer service representative whose full attention I clearly did not have as evidenced by the very long delays in response times between questions. She indicated that I had her full attention, which could not have been true (was she helping multiple customers at the same time? Playing Words With Friends? Making baked Alaska while working from home? Alas, we shall never know). Amazon informed me that it is their policy that they do not send individual parts, but instead I would have to return the entire sofa and they would send me a new one. I tried debating that this makes no sense at all that Amazon would waste the money for shipping two more times when the reasonable, economical, and convenient alternative would be to just send me a cushion. Well, that is not their policy, and they wouldn’t budge.
Amazon offered for me to purchase a new set of cushions online myself, and they would overnight the purchase and refund me $30 for my trouble. A generous offer and reasonable alternative. The problem is…they don’t sell replacement cushions online. So while I appreciate the offer, I couldn’t benefit from it. So returning it for a replacement was the only option I was afforded. But if I did return it for a replacement, I would have to be home to receive the new item, resulting in another 1/2 day’s work missed. I even offered to drive to my local Amazon distribution center and pick up the solitary cushion myself, to which the operator replied (approximated quote), “you can try doing that, but it will probably be a total waste of your time” (much like my conversation with her was).
I wanted to speak to a supervisor, so she took my number and they called me within 10 minutes. Wading through the heavy accent that I could barely understand (and I’m a former speech pathologist!), I debated my solution. No matter how I argued my point, they stuck to their ridiculous policy that the item has to be returned in its entirety, and they refused to simply send me a replacement cushion. I even mentioned to the supervisor that I would be saving Amazon money with my solution, and although he admitted that it is very costly to ship large items like that (times three), the policy is the policy, period. So he offered to set up the delivery date for the new sofa, and would also set up the pickup for the sofa that is missing one little cushion. I declined his offer.
The amount of frustration elicited by one tiny little missing cushion was enough for me to say screw it, I’m returning this thing to Amazon for a full refund and will pay the $200 extra for a different brand from another store. I can’t even tell you the amount of money I spend at Amazon on a weekly basis, but I am going to start rethinking this. If they can take that big of a financial loss by paying for shipping three times when the alternative would have been much more economical, they clearly don’t need my money.

Versatile Styling, Firm Seating, Ample Capacity – and only 56 pounds,
I had a question about this Strathwood Patio Sofa (does it have a weight limit?) that I was hoping to get answered prior to writing my review. So I went to the website indicated on the flyer that came in the box, and was immediately redirected to the Amazon site. Then I read the flyer more carefully: “Strathwood by Amazon.com”. I was pleasantly surprised to learn (albeit assumedly) that Strathwood is an Amazon product. But I have yet to answer that weight limit question, which is not really such an odd or dumb question since the sofa itself weighs only 56 pounds and is expected to have a capacity for three adults. (Update: after multiple very frustrating emails to Customer Service, there is STILL no answer to this. Instead, all I was told was that the sofa’s weight is 56 pounds and to contact Strathwood directly – but HOW??? Doing so puts me in an infinite loop with Customer Service.)
Aside from this, I think this is an exceptional patio sofa whose classic looks will work nicely in both contemporary and more traditional settings. This is my first piece of patio furniture, and I am already planning my next coordinating purchase – and a deck overhaul.
The Positive and The Neutral Observations:
No assembly required, very firm seat and back cushions (definitely not cushy or sink-in-able), cushion covers are 100% polyester and feel cooler than I expected, seat depth is 21.5 inches with back cushion in place (no throw pillows used), seatback is 17 inches high, seat width of 23 inches easily accommodates 3 average-sized adults, armrests are 7 inches high, cushion color is easy to design around (item description calls it beige, but I would call it a light stone color), price includes 4 separate pillows, lightweight (56 pounds), easy to move and reposition, surprisingly sturdy, attractive dark cocoa brown, versatile casual style almost crosses over toward traditional, and the Griffen line cross-coordinates nicely with other Strathwood lines.
The “Not quite” Negatives:
The “wicker” is not tightly woven and is thus a little see-through; this faux material gets QUITE hot to the touch in direct sun. (I’m making simple covers to put over the arm rests.) Also, the cushion covers are polyester (but remarkably cool as noted above), the sofa moves if you sit down too forcefully in it, cushion depth of 21.5 inches might be too deep for petites and children (I am 5’4″ and not graced with legginess, yet my back and feet are comfortably in the right place), and there is – as of yet – no easy readily available contact info for product questions.
One thing I do plan to change is the cushion covers, replacing the polyester with canvas or Sunbrella fabric. I will update this review with pictures, along with any additional information I can find about weight limit restrictions.
