The Simply Automated Inverting Phase Coupler is designed to be plugged into a 220 VAC 3 prong power receptacle. This coupler can be installed in a 220VAC power receptacle, or between a 220VAC power receptacle and plug of a high power appliance, such as a clothes dryer, air conditioner or stove.

solved all my problems,
This thing works great. Before installing, some of my X10 modules didn’t work on certain circuits in my house. When leaving on long trips I had to run extension cords to some lamps in different rooms so as to give the house a lived in look. Now all those problems are gone, and what an easy install.
