Shure sounds great!!!, February 10, 2007

This microphone does the job!….great sound, easy to set up, and haven’t had a single problem with it! I certainly don’t get any “extra noises” from this microphone as I ever did with a wired microphone! It doesn’t pick up every single “puhhhh,” “sssssss,” or “plunk” when touched or tapped. I’m very happy with it….Only thing though, I recommend getting rechargable batteries…as you’ll need to have an extra pair or two if playing long shows as do I….usually 4 hours plus. Most batteries and brands last a good 4-7 hours….but sometimes it just seems that some brands don’t last as long as the others…cheaper in the end to just buy the rechargable ones….it doesn’t take long…and they last a good while!

Thanks Shure for making such a wonderful microphone!!! Will certainly stay with company forever!

US SOUND & LIGHT STAY AWAY!! Defective product, Blackmailing me to give them a positive review., August 5, 2011
    By
Ryan James (New York, NY) –

    Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

So I was really excited about this purchase, I’m a singer. songwriter, producer, in NYC, and I’m starting to perform a lot, so this was a must have addition to my arsenal of musical equipment. Unfortunately, I received a defective mic & didn’t realize it until the night of my show; I had never tested it before then. Lesson learned. I tried everything & then called Guitar Center & they told me to bring it in & see if they could fix the problem. Well turns out it was defective after all, no sound at all. Just a bad mic. So I wrote a negative review on US SOUND & LIGHT’s page & wanted to exchange the mic for a better quality version, effectively giving the company more money, even though I received a defective item.

Well… Paul from US Sound & Light was supposed to send me a prepaid UPS return label, but today I received this email: “I was just looking at the info, and it looks like the feedback never got changed as we agreed. I have no problem sending prepaid tags, but would do so in return for the feedback being turned to a neutral or positive. Please let me know what you want to do. Thanks.”

I replied, “I will give you glowing feedback once I receive a working microphone. I never agreed to change it before the transaction was complete. I said, “I will change it”, I never said when.

Paul replied, “No problem. I had thought we had an agreement. You can defintely depend on us based on the feedback, and for us to spend extra money above and beyond what we should according to our return policy, we need to have something worth it like good feedback. If you want, you can ship to the following address based on our return policy… Once received, we will either exchange or give you credit towards the other microphone. If you would like to include a postage receipt with the order, once positive feedback is received and you have a working microphone, we will gladly reimburse you for the postage. Thanks.”

I found his response more than outrageous & so I replied back: “I want to be satisfied that I can depend on your company and service and I will nothing but good things about your account. So basically I’m not getting the pre-paid ups label because I haven’t changed my review? You understand that you’re basically blackmailing me. Demanding positive feedback and receipts so that you’re satisfied.
Remember, I’m the customer here, & this isn’t sitting very well for me. I expected, nothing but the best service, but I have not received it.”

Paul from US LIGHT & SOUND basically blackmailed me to change my negative review of their company on Amazon before I sent my mic back & refused to send me a pre-paid UPS label, STANDARD PRACTICE FOR DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE, because I wouldn’t change my review.

I will now change the review to 1 star as I was actually blackmailed into changing a review & rating of their company, denied shipping & everything else. So I called shure and they’re going to repair the product for me & they instantly sent me a pre-paid UPS shipping label. I will never deal with US LIGHT & SOUND AGAIN. STAY AWAY FROM THAT COMPANY!!!

After all this, the microphone is professional grade quality & can be relied on to give a clear clear performance, the only downside to this model is that this model has less channel options, meaning if there are a lot of tv stations or radio interference it might be harder to find a good channel, especially in NYC, as the guy from Shure informed me. The quality of the more expensive mics are the same, but if have the extra $100, and live in a metropolitan area, traveling & singing, I would invest in the more expensive versions so you have more channel options. The Shure guy told me that’s basically the only difference with these mics, channel options. Shure PGX24/SM58 Handheld Wireless System, H6
