I have to rank this game low because I never could get it to run properly on my new MacBook computer, in spite of the fact that it met the stated system requirements of “Mac X 10.5.6 OR HIGHER”. I have Mac X 10.6.4, so it should have worked. After sending several emails to UBISOFT, as directed in the manual, I finally was told:

“Unfortunately the laptop versions of the video chipset are not supported. The nVidia 320M came out after the release of the game and was never tested with the software, as well as Snow Leopard. The franchise has moved forward and is no longer creating patches for the older titles.”

So my time and money were wasted.

A very lush game, simple to pick up and drops you right into the action. The focus is more on the acrobatics and parkour like moves. The fight-sections are not too long, and sometimes can even be avoided. Excellent and enjoyable banter between the two main characters. But on a regular Mac Pro (4 core) it is quite slow (800×600 on low setting is doable) because of its very high polygon count, and high detail textures (something to really marvel at during the game, when you reach high towers). With a 8800GT it is fantastic on 1280×1024 medium setting.

Well worth picking up and supporting the OsX gaming scene. No protection, DRM etc. Buy it today.

I was surprised this game ran as well as it did on my 17″ MacBook Pro. We all know that Mac user get the short end when it comes to gaming. Anyhow, I just loved the rich graphics and, at times, I felt like I was participating in an interactive movie rather than playing a video game. The story is fun, the characters are beautiful, and the monsters are straight up scary. The level of play was challenging enough to be interesting without being frustrating, and the problem-solving aspects of the game are well-crafted. I was sucked in within minutes, and I wouldn’t consider myself a “gamer” at all.
