I bought this Jasmine plant from Hirt’s back in February 2011. It arrived about 4′ tall and a little worse for the wear given the cold temps in February. I kept it warm and watered in my little make-shift indoor greenhouse and then moved it outside in May. It’s been potted on my porch since May and today, 8/16/11 it is over 6′ tall and it has blooms that have no smell whatsoever! That is, until the sun goes down… Once it gets dark outside this plant releases it’s sweet fragrance for the entire neighborhood to enjoy! I can’t believe how beautiful the smell. You would not want this plant in the house as the fragrance would be too overwhelming for cetain. Nonetheless, what an awesome specimen. Asthetically speaking, quite honestly, it’s not the most beautiful plant I own. It is however, by far and away, the most fragrant!! I am more than pleased with this plant!

I received the plant in good condition. It is about 2” tall, I was thinking it would be taller. No complaints, great service!

I bought this a few months ago and it is still flowering, non-stop since it arrived. It is potted and outdoors – in direct sun…for a few weeks it was in partial sun and we had a rain spell (days and days) and it didn’t have time to dry out and the leaves started getting yellow toward the bottom. I moved it back to full sun and have been trying to move it under the patio when it rains so it doesn’t get drenched but am still getting a few yellow leaves-so I don’t know what the problem is or if it needs more “dry time” but aside from a few yellow leaves toward the bottom, it still seems totally healthy. Not a fast grower – but hardy and sturdy and constantly flowering. If this yellow leaf issue at the bottom doesn’t get worse and it continues to flower like this, it’s well worth the money. I don’t mind slow growth as long as there is growth – and it’s grown about 2 inches. I woudln’t have noticed the growth at all but since I never grew this plant before, I took a photo when I planted it – it’s the best way to know if something’s growing, changing, getting better or worse when I am growing an unfamiliar plant.

I love my climber – it has taken many months before it started to grow flowers and I was pleasantly surprised that those flowers give out a fantastic aroma.

Care “secrets”: plenty of sun, well drained soil and an occasional drops of liquid “Miracle Growth”.

This is a very cool plant. I didn’t know that it was a climber. It really loves the morning sun, which does not seem to be to much for it. So far………. so good.
