As someone who’s recently made the transition from using commercial cleaning products to healthier, natural alternative ones, this book was a god-send for me. It went into such detail about the different types of natural cleaning options and gives you tips (which are very well organised) on which types of natural cleaners work well for different parts of the hime. For instance, the kitchen, bedroom, floors etc. It even covers window cleaning which is something that I know I neglect sometimes. This is a fantastic book and i’d highly recommend it for people who are keen to switch to a healthier and more natural environment.

This is a nice little cleaning “encyclopedia” that will come handy next time I get red wine on my couch, stains on my clothes or just need to clean and polish my kitchen. I’m waiting for the next accident to happen so that I can try a few of the things out.

This book talks about many ways to clean your kitchen, bathroom, cookware, etc. The author also lists the common cleaners you should avoid because they’re very toxic and gives alternative methods that are safe and effective. I also had one of those tiny paperback books about how to clean anything. Not only is it outdated but it wasn’t complete. There were so many cleaning situations not covered. I think this book has everything in it. There’s an A to Z alphabetical index. Click on “B” and among other things you’ll find bassinets, bathtubs, bathroom drains, battery terminals, bed bugs, beer stains, beets, berber carpets, bicycles, black mold and so on. There are some food items included like vegetables, blue crabs, broccoli etc and I can see myself checking those as well. This is a great resource book that you’ll use when you have a specific stain or cleaning need.

I still have two paperback books I purchased years ago on how to clean this and that; they’re not only stained and worn, but they’re now outdated. I grabbed this at 99 cents and started scrolling through. This is a great find – one that every household should have as reference only because it contains so much more than my books did!
Included in this book not only the usual, like how to clean flooring and marks off a wall, but how to clean artichokes. I checked individual fruits – which isn’t listed – but there is an entry for the general cleaning of fruits and vegetables. I was surprised to see that it also covers cleaning things in the garage, cookware, and gold. This is very inclusive; the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is due to the way the info is organized. It would have been nice to have it sectioned by types of cleaning, but instead it’s indexed alphabetically. That’s not bad; just a personal preference. Highly recommend this book.

Love the ideas in this book because I believe, as humans, we should be able to outsmart pests instead of just pouring toxic chemicals on them. For instance, ants. You can rid yourself of them with white vinegar. I’d much rather use a smart idea like this than start spraying the Raid all over.
