Having read various reviews ranging from rubbish to amazing, I decided to give it a go….I mean what did I have to lose for <$30. I wanted something a little different, something unique for my fiancee. Something that says, “Hey I’ve put a little bit of thought into this” I wasn’t disappointed at all. I was bombarded at work with very excited texts, and endless pictures from my fiancee, capturing every stage and every angle of pearl removal! Needless to say, the gift certainly impressed the lady in my life. The oyster took a little elbow grease to open it, but once she was inside she was not disappointed. There was NO SMELL from the liquid covering the oyster, but I’m guessing maybe she was just lucky. The pearl itself was a generous size, and kept us all amazed for the rest of the day, as it appeared to change color before our eyes, which reminds me, the kit comes complete with a color chart for the pearls, stating what each color represents. Many people have commented on how pretty the necklace and pearl is, but I’m guessing having read some of the other reviews, the clasp and pearl may have to be transferred to another chain at some stage. I have to say, I am contemplating buying another just to see what color pearl we get this time! Needless to say, I would HIGHLY recommend this item as a gift as it’s unique and represents exceptional value for money

Beautiful necklace,
This necklace is really beautiful and a very unique idea. I got one for myself to test it out and then one for a friend. The idea of fishing the pearl out yourself and then placing it in the necklace charm is very original and I have never seen anything like it. The necklace is also very well made. It is a nice, smooth snake chain and a sturdy charm cage. The cage also links together at the chain so as to ensure the pearl can never fall out.

One thing I think is important to point out that I haven’t seen in other reviews is that the chain is not 18′ in length. It is a 16′ length chain. It was stated in the title and description that is 18′ however mine is 16′. I do not have a problem with this but I felt I should warn other people as for some a 16′ chain will not be comfortable around their necklace and may be too tight. 18′ is the standard for necklace chains.
Other than that I have no complaints.

Pearl is so tiny it falls through necklace!,
This is a very cool gift idea; however, I’m extremely disappointed. The company selected the tiniest mollusk to put in this package! It was barely an inch wide and was almost completely flat. We opened it and found a teeny, tiny pink pearl that was way too small for the rose pendant. It instantly fell out of it. It’s completely unwearable. That shell should never have been packaged – how greedy can you get?
