Seller was great, the supply arrived quickly and in perfect working condition (2nd day Amazon Prime).

Not obvious (to me) was that the two adjustable outputs can be connected in series, in parallel, or independently via front panel switches. In series or parallel connection the combined output is controlled by the master output’s controls. In parallel mode the load current is the sum of the values indicated by the two output’s ammeters – requires some quick addition, and is quite manageable.

This supply would have achieved a 5-star rating if it made full rated current in parallel mode and had fine adjust knobs for voltage and current conrols. However, the supply did make 9.5 amps in parallel mode, and the voltage and current control pots are very smooth and with a little practice can be set to the 0.1 amp or volt resolution of the front panel meters.

I have been using this supply to validate some prototype remote ammeters. To do that, I first had to characterize the supply against a 3.5 digit DMM and a set of precision load resistors. Load regulation and ripple were well within spec. Voltage was stable over time, as was current in constant current operation. The LED front panel meters agreed exactly with the DMM and were bright and easy to read at all angles. The fixed 5V output remained within a few millivolts of 5.00 volts over the 1A load current range I used. The binding posts were properly dimensioned and fit the bannana plugs well. (You might think you could take all these things for granted, but that has not been my experience with these foreign-made instruments.)

Overall, a pleasure to use and worth the price.

    2 Channel Beast, December 19, 2012

This unit’s a beast — heavy, and at least a couple of inches wider than the Rigol DP1308A, my other retail DC power supply.
I call it “2 Channel”, since there are knobs only for 2 channels, although it does have a third 5V fixed output (furthest terminal pair on the right) which comes in handy.

    What I like about it:

    * comes on nearly instantly (< 1s)
    * provides two analog dials for setting the voltage on each of the channels. Therefore:
    * easily vary the voltage while measuring the output of a circuit (rather than digitally entering each voltage change into the keypad, as on digital units, such as the Rigol)
    * two additional dials for limiting the current through each channel
    * accurate current usage readout for each channel (10mA resolution)
    * easy to read voltage and current displays
    * large Power pushbutton

I have not used the Series/Parallel modes, as I leave it in Independent mode.

The display has four LARGE, easy-to-read 3-digit LED displays (2 red for current + 2 green for voltage). Dials turn smoothly, although there is a slight lag in the voltage display while turning the dial, so it’s easy to overshoot your target voltage and have to turn back a time or two to home in on the desired value. This is one tad annoyance. So far, I only have:

    Slight Annoyances:
    * slight lag in voltage change while turning dials (easy to overshoot, until learning to anticipate this)
    * very noticeable clicking while turning either voltage or current dials (sounds like switching heavy-duty relays)
    * Only 10mA resolution (It’s right-on, when simultaneously measured with the Fluke, but is not precise enough — you’ll know when you reach 20mA, for example, but not 21 or 23 or even 29mA)
    * the “3rd” channel is a fixed 5V. It would be nice if this was settable (12/6/5/3.7/3.3), or if there were additional outputs for at least 3.7V and 3.3V.

This is a great unit. I love being able to reach up and turn a dial to vary the voltage and watch the current usage. A huge timesaver when testing motor speed and measuring the actual Vf of a string of LEDs.

I find the large bright readouts on this power supply makes it very readable under the worst lighting conditions along with the dual adjustable meters adjustable from Series to Parallel to independent readouts makes this a no brainer for the class room.

A great product that CAN work but don’t depend on it, March 20, 2012

Hair loss is a complicated issue that there is still no magic pill.

Like all product, it is a hit or miss. You will need to find one that works for you. Rogaine worked wonderfully for me. Although I use other products in conjunction with it (more below).

    A little background:
I am in my late 40s with progressive hair loss symptoms. I have fine black hair and dry scalp than normal. My parents/grandparents were not bald at my age so heredity is questionable, although still possible because it can skip a few generation.

    The product:
I used to use Rogaine liquid but it spills everywhere and trickles down into my forehead, face and eyes. Not very pleasant.

This foam just works so well, in fact, I do not use any styling product anymore. I used to use an organic hair paste that is very gentle but even gave that up.

This foam is your styling gel. I pump a little bit on my hands and rub it all over my hair. Now wait 5 minutes to let it dry a little bit.

Once it is dry, you can style is however you like and it will mold to that shape.

    The results:
After over a year of using it almost everyday, it has dramatically slowed down my hair loss problem. Less hair in tubs, less hair falling off while blow drying, less hair on my towels and comb, just less hair everywhere.

As far as growth goes, it is hard to say because I have always had thin hair since I was a kid. Rogaine will not change your DNA and turn you into a hairy caveman. However, it will help prevent hair loss and hopefully grow back some of the hair you lost (not all of them of course).

The reason why I like this product so much is because it is not an extra product or an additional step I have to take. I use it just like a styling gel and incorporate it into my daily routine.

Although Rogaine works, I m not giving it all the credit. I have made many lifestyle changes and also use other products to help with hair loss problem.

Some of which I am sharing below:

Through years of research, I have found a therapy that works for me and many of my friends. It is not easy and requires lifestyle changes. I will outline them below:

First, start with diet. Increase raw organic foods. Reduce processed foods to the minimum. I recommend juicing everyday using a high quality juicer such as this one Breville BJE510XL Juice Fountain Multi-Speed 900-Watt Juicer. Remember to juice only organic vegetables and fruits. Wash them thoroughly after you soak them in a dilution of distilled water, 3% vinegar and a spoon full of baking soda for 10 minutes minimum.

These are the 10 fruits/veggies I juice everyday: Cucumbers (un-waxed), ginger, celery, spinach, bitter melon, carrots, apple, orange, cilantro and beets.

This recipe will not only help with hair loss, it will help with cancer, arthritus, heart diseases, headaches, weight loss, diabetes, migraine, anti-aging, and everything in between.

Juice it and drink it right away within 10 minutes. Don’t store or refrigerate it as it wont be potent and looses the benefits due to oxidation.

I recommend this book: The Juicing Bible

Second, exercise! Not on a treadmill in your garage but actually go out running around the park! Practicing this breathing rhythm. Inhale for 5 seconds, hold for 5 and exhale for 5. Then slow do 10,10,10 once you are good.

Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week. Minimum! No excuses.

Weight training is also good but for hair loss, I found that aerobic exercises such as running and swimming is more effective based on my research.

Third: Use an organic shampoo without SLS (sulfates), or harsh preservatives and has DHT Blocker. You can actually make your own using Dr. Bronner – Organic Castile Soap Unscented Baby-Mild, 32 fl oz liquid liquid and adding saw palmetto, nettles extract, and essential oils to it. However, it is sticky and makes your hair tangled up so you will need to rinse it out with apple cider vinegar as a natural conditioner after.

Or you can buy an Organic Hair Loss Prevention Shampoo on Amazon such as Pura d’or Hair Loss Prevention: Premium Organic Shampoo (16 fl. oz.)

Fourth: Stop using hairsprays and avoid high heat blow dryer. Dry on cool or low setting. Best just to use a fan to dry your hair after you damp it with a towel. Save the hairsprays for special events. There…

This review is from: Rogaine for Men Hair Regrowth Treatment, 5% Minoxidil Topical Aerosol, Easy-to-Use Foam, 2.11 Ounce, 3 Month Supply (Packaging May Vary) (Health and Beauty)

I bought this for my husband. His hair has been thinning pretty badly over the last few months and I know it was making him uncomfortable. He also didn’t want to be seen at the store buying it..(men are vain too!) so I ordered it online for him. It’s taken time to kick in so to speak, but it’s made a difference. Spraying it right on the scalp, it helps promote growth in problem areas within about 6 weeks since the first application. It’s not magical and it doesn’t work overnight, but it certainly helps…

We recently did some searching for more organic approaches and in the last 3 weeks he began using vitamin pills to compliment the rogaine treatments- Free Natrol Biotin – 10,000 mcg Tablets + Hair Growth Essentials – 60 capsules – Promotes Hair Growth, Healthy Skin, and Strong Nails. My aunt used biotin to grow her hair back after chemo – it grew back extremely fast. Believe it or not, they’ve sped up his results quite a bit too. 3 weeks of use has produced fuzz throughout his entire bald spot. The existing hair is much thicker as well. It doesn’t have the negative effects like propecia or other pills for hairloss have and it’s totally organic. Between it and the rogaine, he’s got a fuller head of hair than he has in about 3 years!

I used the Rogaine foam faithfully/consistently for 7 months, but I did not see much difference at all. It must be my bad luck to be in the 15% of the population for which this product does not work. That being said, if you’re going to try it, here are some things to keep in mind (which other reviewers have noted, as well):

    1. You have to apply the stuff twice a day for the rest of your life, or at least as long as you want to try to thicken your hair. Although it’s not the worst discipline, I grew weary of having to do it. Too much trouble, I found.

    2. It’s expensive.

    3. As others have said, it works best just to spray it directly on the crown of the head.

    4. I don’t think the odor is bad. It dissipates after a few minutes, anyway.

    5. Definitely use the foam, not the liquid solution. The liquid solution is horribly messy.

Hope you have better luck than I did.
