Cool little book that needs a better description.,
Trying out my Kindle PC, I bought Mann on Film on pure speculation. The Amazon page really didn’t provide a decent amount of information regarding the book’s contents, which is really unfortunate because the few line description is fairly general and without substance. This book needs a better description, one that adequately describes the contents. The author discusses films from the mainstream to B-movies and does so in a fun, very informal and witty way. This book is like talking to an avid film fanatic about his likes and dislikes; and much like talking to an avid film fan, the author does get off on long tangents and the essays seem disjointed at times, but this aside, Mann on Film is a really fun look at one man’s love for cinema. I especially enjoyed the chapters on horror films and Indiana Jones (two topics that probably should be noted in the book description).
