Actually, not bad at all,
The manufacturer sent me one of these to review. When it showed up I didn’t think it would work. It’s just a plastic bag with a 1/4″ thick cloth-like lining and a thin ziploc seal (think sandwich bag, not freezer bag).
The cloth-like material seemed nice because it provides some padding and might even keep a chilled bottle colder than if it was left out in the open. But the claim that it could keep 750 ML of liquid from spilling out just didn’t make sense. The ziploc wasn’t that sturdy and the bag, while reasonably thick, wasn’t *that* thick.
Since I didn’t pay for the thing I had the luxury of testing it. So, I filled my measuring cup with 750 ML of water, poured it in, sealed the bag, and turned it over expecting the water to come (at the very least) seeping out. Nothing seeped.
I looked in the bag and to my amazement, the water had disappeared!
The secret is in the lining! The cloth-like material can absorb and hold about 3 cups of liquid. It doesn’t leak out and I couldn’t even squeeze it out.
Bottom line: For less than three bucks each these bags are inexpensive insurance against liquids you choose to pack from damaging the rest of your stuff.

Great for bringing home beer (and wine),
I travel a lot and like to bring back large bottles of beer in my checked-through luggage. I had previously used Wine Skins that do the same thing, but can only be used one time. The good thing about the Jet Bag is that it can be used repeatedly and is designed to absorb all liquid if it breaks in transit. My only complaint about these bags is that they don’t have a lot of padding at the bottom. It was easy enough to fix by putting in some tissue and making sure it was against something soft instead of another bottle or the hard side of the suitcase. I would defitely buy again.

Bring home the finds: wines from Burgundy to Chicago,
I snagged 4 of these for a recent trip to France. Last time I was over there I ended up with a small wine collection to bring home, and no reliable way to do it. At the time, I packed the bottles up as carefully as I could and crossed my fingers. This time however, I wanted to be a little more prepared…
I am happy to report that all four bottles made it safely across the Atlantic, as did my wardrobe. I am so pleased with these little bags that I plan to buy a case of them to give to all of my family for Christmas.
The directions say it best, you slide a bottle into the bag and toss it in your luggage. No fear. Though I should mention that the bag is less about padding the bottle and more about containing the spill, so I was still careful with my packing job. These were ripe Burgundy reds that I was hoping to taste, not contain. But I knew that my favorite sweater wrapped around the bottle for protection was in no danger of assuming a new hue.
