Again, like the other review, I found it did not meet my expectations. It is indeed a piece of aluminum bent into a box. The box is not welded at the seams, not even spot welded, so the corners are all broken and bent when it arrived. I will have to epoxy it in order to give it any semblence of waterproofness. I can actually see through the inside corners, so it’s definitely not watertight.
The coating is not durable, quite a lot of it was already rubbed off and could be found inside the box that arrived at my front door. When I picked it up, it sounded like a rain stick.
If this had been a molded piece of plastic, it might have been much better. I can imagine it would have been watertight at least.
I ordered two of them, and they were not separated at all inside the package, so they were rubbing together. This didn’t do the coating any favors. One corner of the larger box was bent, indicating it left the seller already damaged. It had broken the meager silicon seal that was applied at the unwelded corner joint.
I will definitely not be purchasing these again for our second bathroom we are also refitting.

I am redoing my bathroom and decided to instal a niche….. This seemed to be the simplest to keep the leaks away… The tileman said it was easy to use and works well… Time will tell if it performs. An inexpensive part…
