Poor quality,
I bought this, not as a toy, but as decor for a Hollywood inspired room renovation. Had I realized that it actually came from Oriental Trading Company (as marked on the back of the product), I would’ve skipped it as they’re not generally known for their quality. The white painted areas are poorly done and had smudged paint and scratches. The movable arm would likely fall off if used for a toy. It’s not worth the hassle to return it, so I’ll fix it up with some paint since no one will actually be using it–only looking at it. The price was cheap, but so’s the product.

|Smaller than you might think but fun for kids,
This is a toy, not a “real” movie clapboard. It feels a bit flimsy, but has held up to my kids’ playing with it for over a week. They like it and use it with their video camera. They like slamming it shut and it makes a loud “clap”. No complaints. It’s a cheap toy and that’s what I was expecting.

Very cheap and small. You cannot write on the board and the nut/bolt that holds the arm on seems really flimsy. Would do for a cheap prop or toy but not for any serious use.
