Quiet and heats evenly,
I purchased this .9 cu. ft. oven because the outside dimensions are perfect for my available cabinet space. The oven, to my ears, is very quiet compared to similar countertop models I’ve used over the years. It heats evenly – popcorn pops thoroughly without burning and frozen dinners do not have cold spots. The oven, in my opinion, is very handsome – it has a clean, elegant appearance, unusual among ovens of this size and price range. Unfortunately, to achieve the darkened “Darth Vader” look tinted glass was used on the door which makes viewing while cooking very difficult. A higher wattage interior light would have helped. The touch pad is also hard to read unless the room is brightly lit (I have taken to keeping a small flashlight near the oven for late night snacks). The more important point is that the oven works well and looks great, unlike many of the small microwaves out there. I use my microwave ovens a lot (4 or 5 times daily) and my last one gave me 4 years before giving up the ghost. I would be happy to get similar service from this one.
Note: I read several reviews of this particular oven complaining that the push-button door release tends to stick. Maybe that was a bad batch or maybe I’m just lucky but my door button works very smoothly.

|Needs a better way to open door,
I purchased this item to replace a GE Spacesaver microwave which had worn out. The new Ge Spacesavers are larger than the old ones and this model Frigidaire has the right dimensions. This is a powerful unit for the size, which we like. The trouble we are having is with the push button door opener. The mechanics are poorly designed and the spring isn’t strong enough to open the door all the time. It sticks. I will be contacting the local Frigidaire repairman because we have only used if for a month and it is still under warranty. I hope there is no hassle repairing or replacing it.

I didn’t even have this microwave in use for one week when it died. Having not saved the packing slips or the box I was not able to return it. Very dissappointed.
