Gardens of the Spirit 2013 Wall Calendar

Gardens of the Spirit 2013 Wall Calendar

Strongly influenced by Shinto and Buddhism, the Japanese style of landscaping is particularly conducive to restoring an inner calm. Requiring an artful blend of imagination, skill and patience, the Japanese garden is an extension of the self. By adapting the harmonies of natural design to our own landscape, we heighten our understanding of the world around us and within us.
The Gardens of the Spirit wall calendar features twelve exquisite images from garden photographer Allan Mandell. Paired

Compared with two other free calendar apps I tried on the Kindle Fire, I liked this one the best. I also tried using the Hand Calendar and the Note Calendar, which I did not like. The Fliq Calendar app is easier to to use and there are no “free adds” to deal with. I would like this calendar better if events and appointments were visible on the month view. I have a lot of birthday reminders to schedule, and these reoccurring events were a little tedious to set up. Now that I have the dates input, it should be easy to maintain. I especially like the Agenda view. The calendar appears to function through December 2099. I haven’t tried to sync this calendar app with any calendars on my other devices, so I can’t comment on the sync function.

Product info should clearly indicate that $40 software is required to sync with Outlook on your PC. Sounded nice but missleading. Without the sync capabilities, this is pretty plain vanilla.

(Used on Kindle Fire) I first choose this app by the rewiews of other users, but I found this not meeting my needs. After entering 3 months worth of information, a process I found combersum and tedious, no copy and paste function to place repeat appointments on different days or times. Even using the repeat function in the app, it would not limit to the date range set. To the issue of this review, each time I opened this app, the calendar would open to the first day I used this app, even though that day has passed. I would expect that once an appointment has passed that it would be removed from the program of the app. I want to know what I need to do, not what I have done.

I didnt quite know what to expect w/o being able to see the back of the calendar for the remainder of the months, but was I glad I ordered this one! The pictures by renopwned photographer Charles Mann are just beautiful of serene and simple Japanese gardens and the narrative by Maggie Oster, herself a photographer, is so inspiring. If I would have received this as a gift I would have been overwhelmed. AS it was a gift to myself I am equally delighted. ALl the international holidays from Christian to Pagan to Buddhist to you-name-it are listed as well as the moon phases and eclipses. Not too much but interesting to note. EST is the given time for the SOlstices etc. You wont be disappointed – just beautiful!

I was delighted to find the photography was of framing quality. Was glad to see the phases of the moon included so clearly and the many holidays marked.
Do wish there had been a way to put the explanation on the upper page with the photo and give room to make the calendar spaces a little bigger. Many of us use our calendars to record appointments, etc.
I am pleased with this purchase as it is for a gift. Joan R. Lindsey
