I purchased these shoes as I tend to overpronate and have plantar fascitis in my right foot. I had read online that these shoes tend to run a little smaller than Orthaheel shoes, so I purchased a half size up, which fit my feet (with socks) perfectly. The one complaint I have about orthaheel is that the footbed is rather wide for my feet, whereas these shoes fit them very well. With that said, people may find the footbed a little tight if they are comfortable in medium width Orthaheels. These shoes not only position my feet well, but the pain from my plantar fascitis is almost non-existent! I also like the look of these shoes as well. Highly recommended for problems with over-pronating and plantar fascitis.

    Inconsistent sizing, July 11, 2012

I ordered two pairs of these shoes, one Women’s 8.5 and one Women’s 9, because I wasn’t sure which size I required. I ordered from the same amazon product page. The shoes shipped in separate orders, each from a different vendor. The boxes were different, and there are slight differences in the styling of the shoes (for example, one has a pink area on the side of the sole, which the other does not). The real surprise, however, is that the sizing on the shoes was inconsistent. The 9 was demonstrably SMALLER than the 8.5. According to the stamps in the tongues, the 9 corresponds to a Euro 39, while the 8.5 corresponds to a Euro 39.5. Both pairs were too small, although the 9 was more tight-fitting and shorter than the 8.5. Clearly, the shoes were made by different manufacturers and given the Dr. Weil brand.
In addition to the sizing issue, the support was not as great as I expected. I have two pairs of Orthaheel sandals, and they are the best shoes I’ve found for walking and the only sandals I can wear because of plantar fasciitis. I thought that these Orthaheel sneakers would have a similar inner sole. In fact, the sole of the Dr. Weil sneakers is not as sculpted as that in the sandals; the heel bed isn’t as deep, and the arch is not as pronounced. I have inner soles I purchased from REI that are far more supportive, and they can be placed in any sneakers.
Overall, a disappointment. I’ll return both pairs.

I had high hopes for this shoe to help with my aching ankles and legs during trips to the zoo, Disney World, etc. I had 1st ordered a size 8 (I normally wear a 7/12) but my foot felt like a sausage in them. Ordered an 8 1/2 and that was the trick. I would recommend this product.
