Works Perfectly, But No Amazon Instant Video,
This adapter provides a perfect image of my iPad 3 screen on my TV, with everything except the one app I bought it for: Amazon Instant Video. It’s the fault of the app, not the adapter. And it’s my fault for not reading more about the app. As soon as you select a video, the TV image of the iPad screen goes away, and a message comes on the TV saying the app doesn’t support AirPlay or HDMI. What a disappointment.

I bought this adapter because it looked exactly like one a friend of mine owns, who uses his without a problem. I have an iPhone 4, and upon getting this, I saw it was an Apple knockoff. I don’t mind that – as long as it works. I always got a picture and sound, but the problem I am having with it is that I cannot watch an hour program without it cutting out a dozen times or more. The screen goes totally black for seconds and then comes back on. Like I stated, this annoying interruption can happen a dozen times watching an hour show. This is unacceptable.
I am a fairly technical person, so I did what I could do to problem-solve the issue myself. I tried different USB power cables, I tried two different HDMI cables, and I even tried two different TVs. I tried turning off certain settings on my iPhone to avoid notification interruption (Mail notifications, Auto-Lock, Password Lock, etc). I ordered this adapter on April 1. I have had it for about a week and a half and this problem is getting progressively worse the more I try to use it.
I contacted the seller I bought this from (VicTsing) and got a totally ignorant and stupid reply. I was told the device doesn’t “mirror” and that I should download an app called Video Out. Seriously? This person did not read my email. I was already watching it on the TV – my issue was it was cutting out constantly. I do not need to download this app – which does not exist in the app store. The phone came with a video app already installed that you play the videos through. I told them I wanted a refund. I would rather pay for the Apple brand adapter and not have these issues then deal with this. This adapter was advertised, verbatium: Digital AV HDMI Adapter to HDTV for Apple – New – iPad 2,3; iPhone 4S, 4G, iPod Touch. This isn’t Rocket Science. My phone met these qualifications. You plug the power USB into the corresponding port on the adapter. You plug in the HDMI cable into the corresponding port on the adapter. You plug the end of the adapter into your iPhone and you plug the other end of the HDMI adapter into the back of your TV. You open “Videos” on you iPhone. You select the video you want to play, you iPhone tells you that the selected video is now playing on your TV, and you should be able to enjoy said program – clear picture, full sound, NO SKIPPING OR BLINKING OUT INTERRUPTIONS. If you have any decreased quality in sound or picture, or interrupted streaming – and you have tried all other sources of connection – its the adapter – END OF STORY.
I would not recommend this adapter to anyone, nor would I recommend the seller.

Hooks up my ipad to my tv via hdmi. I can now watch movies from my ipad or ipod on a tv that may not have netflix or a dvd player, but the big thing is that i can now watch internet tv from my ipad onto my tv. It also allows the ipad to charge at the same time, however, after a two and a half hour movie my ipad went down only two percent cause the main screen can be switched off while watching. Definatly worth getting if you want to surf, watch movies, or internet tv. Maybe able to hook up the ipad on a bigger screen but haven’t tried it yet.
