This album is really a breath of fresh air for the world of instrumental music. While it resides in the realm of jazz, it is so much more than that. The Vintage Modernists with their simplistic, melodic approach to jazz explore the fusion of folk, experimental, and classical music within the jazz idiom. Perhaps the best way to describe the music is filmic music (sans film of course), because each track on this album seems to tell a story that you can watch as you listen.
I highly recommend downloading this album–I promise you won’t be disappointed.
