First off I’m not a big fan of “young” romances but for some reason my gut told me get this ebook and I was not dissappointed. What an awesome story, it had everything: romance, true love, hot sex, good story line! You won’t be sorry if you get this ebook, it’s a cross between Vampire Diaries and Twilight but soo much better and OH Yeah, the ending was very good. I also purchased book 2 in this series that’s how much I loved this story.

I absolutely loved this book.I like dark romances and this book had all the right elements for me.First of all the male romantic interest was great he was a ladies man who fell in love for the first time and was extremely possessive. The female lead was sweet and would give anyone a chance including a horrible friend who wanted the male even though he made it clear he did not want her. Most all what I loved was there love never seemed to be questioned.Once the male and female get together their together not matter what tries to tear them apart.Great romance.

So many glowing reviews I thought I would give it a try- and I have to say I am a little ticked that wasted an evening with this book- when there are so many others that are so much better.

The book started off well enough, college girl who is a little reserved with boys and of course EVERY boy at the college wants her and she has no idea why. And then it is like invasion of the body snatchers or something. All of the sudden there are vampires- a crazy stalker ex that just won’t let go, and of course the cliqed trip to the winter cabin and the snowed in group of friends who will fear for their lives.

There are way too many similarities to Twilight that just bothered me to no end. I was not really a fan of Twilight per se- but I read it before it was huge- and I find now that many authors are trying to copy that formula and fail miserably at it- this `Awakened’ is no exception. Seriously, it is like the whole Twilight Saga condensed into one book, with enhanced sex scenes and language.

I would go on and on about the problems of this book- but I feel that warrants more of my time and I refuse to give this lackluster piece of writing any more of my time.

I would not recommend this book to anyone- unless you want to re-read Twilight with heightened sexuality- but be warned, you may curse yourself when it finished…

Warning: High levels of sexuality, including descriptive sexual writing
    Blood violence
