Brilliant and just what I needed!,
Sarnat hits the nail on the head in her simple, clear and enthusiastic tone. I’m a “Janey-come-lately” to art. I need something that takes me by the hand and lovingly guides me through the language, the culture and the materials of creating from nothing.

|Easy reference,
First I was drawn by the cover and I like that it is 151 secrets (not 150 or 152). Being a professional artist, I am always looking for new inspiration to help me in my work. I especially enjoyed the playful writing style and found the section on composition secrets helpful. I’ve had good results with some of these techniques and love the interference powders! I Find that the simpler art books are often the best. This book is a welcome addition to my library.

|A great find for any artist,
This book was a revelation, even for a seasoned painter like myself. Chances are you will discover new techniques and materials that you have never thought about! In addition, Marjorie’s casual and upbeat approach make it easy to read.
I found the links and resources at the end of the book amazing. There are many I never heard of. Like a web site devoted to art supplies for artists who do miniatures or smaller scale art. Amazing!
