I love this product. It might make a great present or stocking-stuffer for a gardener, although a highly-experienced gardener probably won’t use it. If you are just starting to grow vegetables, this may save you time, money, and frustration. When you open the package, the Vegetable Garden Wheel is rather unimpressive. That’s okay. It’s the information on the wheel that makes it a good gardening tool. It’s a colorful cardboard wheel. You just turn the dial to the vegetable you are planting and you get quite a bit of handy information. It’s easy to use. It tells you when to start plants indoors, when to transplant them outside, whether to locate the in full sun, part sun, shade, etc., It tells you about spacing, how much room each plant needs between plants, after thinning, and the space needed between rows/hills.

I especially was pleased that it tells you approximately how many days it takes for each seed to germinate. They don’t all germinate at the same rate of speed. It gives the approximate days to harvest, which has been very helpful to me, and even includes the expected height of the mature plant, whether it’s carrots, broccoli, pumpkins, radishes, lettuce, melons, etc. There are 20 vegetables that you can dial up quicker than you can look them up in a book.

Low price and excellent idea! You might want to get one for yourself and for a stocking-stuffer/gift for a gardener friend who is fairly new at planting vegetables.

This is a great instant reference, as far as it goes. It has been, and still is, very handy for planning my plantings. I wish that there could be more plants named, but I have interpolated some plants by their family connections. e.g., kohlrabi is in the Cabbage Family, as are broccoli and cauliflower.) It has also been of some use this year when I was planning our first TOTAL raised bed garden using square-foot suggestions. (BIG, BIG success, by the way! And for all to know, I am a 74-year-old male. I think that the name is somewhat sexist, even though the title piqued my interest.

This delightful garden wheel has everything a person needs to know about planting and harvesting. It is made of cardboard, but feels sturdy and the wheel turns easily. I love it!
