Reading a couple of these reviews, people expected to hear the next masterpiece or something. This is rock & roll people, not Mozart. THC aren’t even trying to make the next Sgt. Pepper for pete’s sake. They suppose to make a butt kicking hard rock album & they delivered in my humble opinion. Big Dad Ritch’s vocals are really strong while the rest of the band are playing some heavy riffs here. Good job guys, I can’t wait for the next album. Rock on THC!!!

I’m from the Red River valley (south) area originally, but I don’t remember it at all. Moved away at a very early age. So when I heard about the Red River metal or whatever it’s being called, I had to check it out. I haven’t spent much time in the south, but I have found that I love southern metal, or at the good stuff, which is funny because I like a lot of terrible things.

But the THC is anything but terrible. The lyrics aren’t always as polished as I’d like, but I give Judas Priest a pass so these guys are a league above that tripe. It’d be easy to ignore given the driving metal they pump out, but Big Dad Ritch’s vocals are fun, really fun. Each time it seems like he’s going to fall into an old tired and overused approach, he seems to change it up just enough to keep me interested.

They bring an energetic and exciting voice to southern metal and – along with the Showdown – are one of my new favorites as I slip back into really loving metal. Very little screaming, creative use of vocals in a few places, and hard driving rhythms, expert distortion, and just enough taking themselves too seriously.

If you like metal, you’ll probably like THC. Start with Pissed Off. It’s the heavy rotation track but there’s a reason. The only one I’m not real fond of is Groupie Girl.

If you like it loud and heavy, this will not disappoint. Not only is it good quality, high octane heavy metal, you can understand the lyrics. Well, I can anyway. Seriously folks, if you really long for seriously heavy music, this is it. It’s well worth the price. I just wish the earlier albums were easier to come by. There’s a reason why the early ones cost so much on here. This band is that good. I’m not going to rate or review individual songs. Just trust this: if you like it loud and heavy, you will love this album.
