these things are HUGE!,
i read a review on a Mylar blanket that said these sleeping bags are better, I’m glad i listened.
I’m 6’6″ and 280+ lbs. needless to say I’m a big dude, and i was nervous that a closed off sleeping bag would be a mistake over a blanket. I’m glad i was wrong, i opened one up and i fit in it with plenty of room to spare. I’m not saying it can fit me plus someone else, but i had no trouble climbing in and out of it.
the double pack is a nice bonus…. something i didn’t read so now i own 4, oh well. now I’m even more prepared
there is no doubt in my mind that these might fall apart, they’re plenty tough!

Good for emergencies and when weather turns unexpectedly,
The boys went Scout camping recently – it ended up raining somewhat unexpectedly. Both father and son used these inside their sleeping bags (which were wet) and they said it really helped (though got a little “steamy” because it prevents any breathing from occurring). It’s not a replacement for a silk liner and, yes, some of the silver film wore away where they moved around in their sleep, but for the price, we are going to get a couple more – because they are useful and disposable. They’d rather be sweaty-hot than cold, in the case of 1-night lightweight hiking. These are better than the blankets because they are “taped” like a sleeping bag and don’t get bunched up underneath you (which makes the blankets pretty useless). I would love to have a little heavier version of these (just a couple more ounces) to make them last more than a campout, but for the money we won’t go without them.
