I am *very* disappointed in this wall calendar. I have used Mary Engelbreit calendars for at least five years and have loved every one – until now. The 2013 calendar has no vertical gridlines, which makes it impossible to keep a neat-looking calendar. I wish that I hadn’t tried, because now I can not return it. I hope that next year the gridlines will be back.

I have bought this calendar for years and always loved it. For this 2013 edition. there were two were unfortunate changes. The calendar no longer has vertical lines separating the days. Also, if there are “extra” days in a month and there’s no box for that day, in previous years, the box was divided horizontally (for example, the top half would be for the 23rd, the bottom half for the 30th). In the 2013 calendar, it would say “23/30″ in one box, leaving you left to guess when the event you write in the box actually happens.

I sincerely hope that they revert to the old and true style of complete boxes for calendar days, and to sensibly split boxes when needed. I ended up taking a ruler and pen and adding vertical lines, and dividing the boxes for shared dates.

The calendar always was perfect for writing… please, dear publisher, make it so again. For 2014, I’ll make sure that the calendar is “normal”, otherwise I will look elsewhere for a wall calendar.

Buying advice: If you don’t plan to write in the calendar, or if you don’t mind drawing in the vertical lines and dividing the shared boxes, go ahead and buy it… otherwise best to skip this one this year.

The width of the calendar for 2013 has gotten larger, so it doesn’t fit inside the cabinet door in the kitchen. We are going to try and trim 1/4″ off each side.
