This is just the calendar I have been looking for – Sept 2012 through 2013.
Large print and write on spaces and light to carry. Really like these.

I am one of those people who still needs reminders and calendars in a paper format, so I continue to use planners. I purchased the 16 month, 8 1/2″ x 11″ Brownline planner and mostly like it.

    Pros:
    1. Each month takes up 2 pages so the print is very large and there are 6 lines to write on for each day.
    2. Each month page shows the previous month and the next 4 months in the right hand column. Not sure seeing the previous month is helpful, but seeing a quick view of the coming months is nice.
    3. There are 4 pages for names, addresses phone and emails. I have not used this but it could come in handy as an interim place to write that info before putting it in my phone. Plus, it could be a back up, in case I lose my phone – not unheard of!
    4. I like having the 2 pages of metric conversions. It includes conversions for distance, capacity, weight, temperature, area, volume and military time.
    5. It has 12 sides of Notes which is nice for, well taking notes.
    6. In the front of the planner, it has one page showing each month for 3 years, 2012, 2013, and 2014. The most I usually get from that is that I can see that Christmas is on a Thursday in 2014.
    7. The monthly pages start with Sept 2012 and end with Dec 2013. Just after December are 2 pages of months from Sept 2013 through Dec 2014. I guess this is helpful if you forget to buy your next planner in time.
    8. I do like that it is made from 50% post consumer fiber.

    Cons:
    1. I am not sure if my memory is getting bad, but I feel that the cover on this planner is thinner than before. It is difficult to write in the planner when I am holding it because it flops around some.
    2. Does anyone really use the interest rate calculator they continue to include in their planners? I would rather have a page with all holidays written in one place.
    3. Their personal info page needs to be updated. I don’t think anyone should write all of their personal info in their planner. They not only have space for your name, address, phones, emails and emergency contacts, but also your blood type, allergies and medical notes. With so much identity thief, this seems like over kill.

Overall, I think the Brownline planner is a good price and meets most of my needs.

I had ordered this exact planner for 2012, and I loved it so much I decided to get it again. It’s too big to carry in a purse, but I keep it at my desk at work, and it’s great for keeping track of meetings and commitments. All in all, it’s exactly what you expect from a monthly planner. I will probably be ordering another one of these for next year.
